After weeks of speculation and every centre-back under the sun linked to AC Milan, the moment of truth has arrived as the January transfer window will shut tonight.
The winter mercato closes at 20:00 CET, and we at SempreMilan will guide you through the final few hours of the window. There is the potential for some late movement, so sit back and enjoy!
14:35 CET – Summer scheming
Moncada and D’Ottavio are planning for the future too and they want to try secure at least one free transfer ahead of June. A Fulham defender reportedly has a ‘good chance’ of arriving.
14:10 CET – Rafael under the Eiffel?
Milan will not budge when it comes to the price that they will demand for Rafael Leao amid reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain, we have been told.
13:25 CET – PELLEGRINO OFFICIAL
AC Milan have officially confirmed that Marco Pellegrino has joined Salernitana on a loan deal until the end of the season.
12:45 CET – A bit of humour
The rumours continue to swirl suggesting that Antonio Conte could become the next head coach, and Telelombardia predicted how his Milan might look.
12:20 CET – LATE MOVEMENT?
AC Milan are still pushing to sign a centre-back in the final stages of the window and Lokomotiv Moscow defender Lucas Fasson has been offered, according to a report.
11:50 CET – Computer says no
Di Marzio is reporting that the negotiations between Milan and Salernitana for Pellegrino’s loan nearly collapsed due to an administrative error on the part of his former club Platense.
11:20 CET – Rossonero to Rosanero
More details are emerging on Chaka Traore’s move to Palermo. They have closed the purchase of the Ivorian on an initial loan deal with an option to buy set at €10m plus a 15% resale clause, with no mention of a buy-back.
10:49 CET – Hunt for a 9
Milan debated whether or not to go for a striker in January but they have settled on making a summer investment instead, with four names standing out above all who appeal for different reasons.
10:27 CET – In Fair Verona
Milan always have an eye on the future when it comes to recruitment, and they have two young Hellas Verona players on their wish list according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
10:00 CET – Chaka’s cases packed
Chaka Traorè could also leave Milan on loan and the most likely option at the moment is Lausanne, a team that plays in the Swiss Super League, as per Romano.
09:30 CET – Marco to go?
Marco Pellegrino’s situation is an interesting one. The Argentine is still expecting to join Salernitana as per Fabrizio Romano, even if there were reports FIFA would block it.
The management and lawyers remained in contact with the governing body to find a solution, updates will therefore follow.
09:00 CET – Leaving empty handed?
Milan evaluated various centre-back targets over the past few weeks including Tosin Adarabioyo, Lilian Brassier, Trevoh Chalobah, Jakub Kiwior, Clement Lenglet and most recently Merih Demiral.
As we begin deadline day, the management are currently not expected to make a signing but there is of course the margin for something to happen late.
What’s happening with origi?
Last I read some MLS teams wanted him. We will see. Not sure when the MLS transfer window closes. Remember our deadline isn’t the same as other countries.
Pioli asks for CB, the management didn’t brought any . Gabbia is loan terminated he is Milan player Pioli asked for one more CB furlani you don’t brought anyone
We do not need another CB
So… Traore gone for good, eh? :/
Get Fasson the Duarte 2.0 and send Simić out. And don’t forget the option for 10 millions. Do it!
Reijnders the pass merchant, is NOT the DM we need. We need someone like Kessie, who can win the ball back, control the ball and then act as a link between attack and defense.
Reijnders cannot play defense, cannot win the ball back, can’t attack thus really his only contribution is passing to others. He’s not what we need at all and you can’t teach strength, speed and size.
I’d rather have Bennacer in that spot than Reijnders but ideally we need to find the right person.
