AC Milan are one of the clubs interested in signing Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson ahead of the summer window, a report claims.
According to a report from the Daily Record in Scotland, Ferguson is a target for Milan and Juventus and could be available for just €9m in the summer having only just joined last summer from Aberdeen for around €3.5m.
The 23-year-old has impressed since joining the Rossoblu as he has made 18 appearances this season, scoring three times in the process and establishing himself as a starting central midfielder, an area the Rossoneri need to bolster.
Not only that, but his agent Bill McMurdo believes Ferguson’s development could well have taken him beyond the level of potentially returning back to his home country and joining Rangers or Celtic.
“I know for a fact there is interest there from AC Milan and Juventus. Bologna are very open about the whole thing and have kept me in the picture,” he told the Record’s Off The Ball Podcast.
“I’ve got people who work for me in Italy and they’ve had a few enquiries. I reckon they’ll be looking for a minimum of £8m. Having said that, they sold Aaron Hickey for £20m (€22.6m) and he only played 48 games for them.
“I think it will happen. He deserves it. He’s had to learn the language and a new culture and he’s done very well with that. He’s very professional. I’ve dealt with a lot of good players – a lot of duds too – but he’s in a class of his own.”
