AC Milan got rather lucky with the Champions League draw as they will face Napoli in the quarter-finals. It will most likely be a tight affair, though, and Massimo Ambrosini refused to make any prediction.
The Italian teams were heavily favoured in the UCL draw as they all ended up on the same side of the knockout tree, along with Benfica. All three can dream about the final, therefore, even if it won’t be easy.
Speaking live on Prime Video, the former Milan midfielder Ambrosini shared his thoughts on the draw but he also refused to make any predictions. With such a beneficial draw for Italian football, it’s not the time to get greedy.
“There will be 3 matches within 10 days, there is also Napoli-Milan on 2nd April. We can say for sure that we will have an Italian team in the semi-final… There could even be a derby in the semifinal. If Inter advance, then there will for sure be an Italian derby in the semi-final. Predictions? Please no (laughs),” he said as cited by SempreMilan.it.
The first leg will take place on April 12 at San Siro and the second leg, scheduled for April 18, will be played in Naples. A week before the first leg, the two teams will also face each other in the league.
