AC Milan have talent scouts around the world identifying potential gems for the future, and a midfielder with a familiar surname has come onto their radar.
During his pre-match press conference before the Udinese game, Stefano Pioli confirmed that he would like a centre-back and a central midfielder to arrive before the end of the month.
Sky provided an update in which they reported that Milan are now targeting Maxence Lacroix of Wolfsburg as a potential addition for the centre-back department, even if a January deal will be difficult to agree.
In addition to that, they claim that ‘work is being done’ on Federico Redondo (Fernando’s son), who is a midfielder currently plying his trade at Argentinos Juniors.
The management seem oriented towards strengthening the midfield after the sale of Rade Krunic and with Tommaso Pobega out for a few more months yet.
The request for Redondo is €12m but the 20-year-old is currently involved in the Pre-Olympic Tournament with Argentina and there is no desire to let him leave immediately.
Therefore he too would become a target for the summer mercato rather than a player to get in before the current window closes in what is becoming a running theme after the Alessandro Buongiorno saga.
It was back in 2000 that his father Fernando Redondo moved to Milan from Real Madrid despite having express his desire to stay. He remained until 2004, making just 33 appearances.
