Curva Sud thank Maldini for his work and repeat strong message to Milan owners

AC Milan’s Curva Sud have commented on the dismissal of Paolo Maldini, thanking him for his service and showing their appreciation for the work he did.

It has been a chaotic 48 hours at AC Milan with the news that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been sacked from their positions as the technical and sporting director, sparking what many are calling a new era at the club.

Maldini departs after five years back with the Rossoneri and four years as the head of the technical area, and with a Scudetto, three Champions League qualifications plus a semi-final appearance to show.

Now, the Curva Sud have expressed their opinion on the news of Maldini’s exit with press release published by the fan group on their social media accounts, relayed by SempreMilan.it.

“Regarding the events of the last few days, we would like to sincerely thank Paolo for the work he has done over the years,” it began.

“Making up the relationship that was interrupted on the day of the farewell to football was certainly the most beautiful passage of the path lived together in recent seasons, which brought Milan back to winning in Italy and to be competitive in Europe.

“And a large part of these results must certainly be ascribed to Paolo and to the tireless work done, always distinguished by the love for our colours. A sacking will never erase Paolo Maldini’s history with the Rossoneri, a great captain on the pitch and an example of Milanism for all of us.

“We don’t go into the merits of corporate choices, it’s not up to us to make assessments on the work of managers, coaches and players. We expressed our thoughts clearly with a banner on the last day of the season: SOCIETY: WE WANT THE LEAP IN QUALITY!

“This must be the only objective of the owners and of those who will take care of the technical area from today, to build a strong team capable of fighting on all fronts, because the good of our colors comes and will always come first! WITH AC MILAN IN THE HEART, ALWAYS!”
