AC Milan continued their trend of producing their best performances while under press as they beat Roma 3-1 at San Siro last night.
Milan took the lead early on through Yacine Adli, who scored his first goal for the club in the process, then Olivier Giroud doubled the advantage and Theo Hernandez sealed the result late on after Leandro Paredes’ penalty had halved the deficit.
This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) has a section titled as follows: ‘When their backs are against the wall, they give their best’.
Last night at San Siro against Roma it was a deserved and convincing victory for the Rossoneri who immediately raised their heads after the defeat against Atalanta a few days ago and the consequent elimination from the Coppa Italia.
A 3-1 win was achieved against the Giallorossi thanks to three all-French goals, as Adli, Giroud and Theo scored, the latter two combining brilliantly for the third goal.
With this triumph, achieved under the eyes of Gerry Cardinale – who before the match reiterated his full support for the team and Stefano Pioi – Milan solidified third place in the standings.
The result means that the Rossoneri took advantage of Bologna and Fiorentina’s slip-ups earlier in the day, which pads the lead on fifth place to nine points.
