Pellegatti talks Ibrahimovic’s return, injury situation and attack vs. Fiorentina

Carlo Pellegatti believes that the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is close, while the attacking trident for the game against Fiorentina in eight days has already been chosen.

During his segment on Filo Rossonero, Pellegatti spoke about the possible comeback for Ibrahimovic at what is a delicate moment for Milan given they are without a win in four games and have fallen behind in the Scudetto race.

“Waiting for the restless north wind. There were two interviews requested by Gerry Cardinale, I trust his experience in human relationships. I don’t care what he does, he is the man Cardinale chose,” Pellegatti began.

“Zlatan’s first impact will be at Milanello, we need a hand for the technical part. He is a field man, I don’t think they took him for the sponsors. For Ibra it is the first step so he will start from his comfort zone.”

There have also been headlines generated by Alessandro Florenzi’s involvement in the betting investigations, though widespread reports are claiming he doesn’t risk a ban by virtue of the fact he did not bet on football.

“At the moment we are reading scattered news, Alessandro Florenzi seems to be on the list of suspects. The thing that worries me is that the federal prosecutor’s office was informed, the lawyers are the same as Zaniolo,” Pellegatti said.

“These three elements worry me, worried for him, for the man he is and consequently for Milan and for the consequences especially on the right, also after the absence of Pierre Kalulu.”

In the meantime, the club need to look ahead because next weekend there is a big match against Fiorentina and there will be neither Rafael Leao nor Olivier Giroud available to start, with the former injured and the latter suspended. Pellegatti believes that the choice will fall on Okafor as the striker.

“I saw a good game from Noah Okafor as a centre-forward with Switzerland against Israel. In Cagliari he also scored a goal. The trident against La Viola will therefore be Pulisic-Okafor-Chukwueze. Pulisic is still apart for now, he is doing individual work but I am sure he will recover in time.

“Loftus-Cheek? He wanted to go to Lecce knowing he couldn’t play to be close to the team. In the next few days we will have updates on that front and also on Bennacer and Leao.”
