Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui is the latest name to be linked with AC Milan as the replacement for Stefano Pioli, a situation that the current coach is likely very tired of.
As reported by Tuttosport (as seen below), Lopetegui joins names such as Antonio Conte, Thiago Motta, Francesco Farioli and more. Considering it is not certain that Pioli will be leaving the club during or at the end of this season, the links with other coaches are near-constant.
Milan have reportedly taken a close look at Lopetegui and his credentials, but there has been no serious movement towards any new coach.
There is a lot to still see this season, such as how close Milan can get to Inter and Juventus at the top of Serie A, and whether a trophy can be delivered in the form of the Europa League.
Even Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani has admitted that he is tired of hearing about who the new Milan coach will be, so Pioli must find it all incredibly tedious.
Lopetegui’s most recent role was at Wolves in the Premier League, but he has previously coached Spain, Real Madrid, Sevilla and Porto.
He is a big name, but some fans would prefer an even bigger name with more winning pedigree.
