TMW: Milan targeting a high-level defender and striker – the names

AC Milan had a quiet end to the January transfer window, but they are already planning a couple of big additions in the summer window according to a report.

Niccolo Ceccarini has given an update on TMW and he claims that Milan are looking to sign a high-level central defender and a striker, and that they will be the two main operations for the summer.

Regarding the former, the Rossoneri have already set the wheels in motion after opening talks with Torino for Alessandro Buongiorno.

The offer also envisaged the inclusion of a counterpart like Lorenzo Colombo but in reality there was never a real opening on the part of Urbano Cairo.

However, the Milan management are ready to go back in for him at the end of the season but they know that it will take a big offer to prise him away from the Granata.

There is no shortage of ideas for the centre-forward position as well. Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord has also been added to the long list of players under observation, joining Joshua Zirkzee, Jonathan David, Benjamin Sesko and Serhou Guirassy.

The Mexican is having a great season so far with 19 goals in 19 appearances plus four assists in the Eredivisie.
