AC Milan lost the lead twice as they managed to secure what is overall a very impressive point against Fiorentina, one of the top sides in Serie A Femminile this season.
Milan took the lead after just 15 minutes with a goal from Kamila Dubcova, which was her first in the league this season. After a cross came in and one effort was saved, Andrea Staskova managed to poke the ball to Dubcova who could score into an almost empty net.
It only took a few minutes for Fiorentina to get level, though. Emma Severini picked up the ball in the box and appeared to slip as she tried to shoot, but it ended up being a great cross to Madelen Janogy who headed in here fifth goal in three games. She has been particularly impressive in recent weeks since she joined the club.
Milan reacted well to that setback, and it was Staskova who put the Rossonere back in front. She got past two defenders with a smart turn and finish. She could be crucial for Milan going forward now that she is getting amongst the goals more frequently.
Unfortunately, Milan did not start the second half as well as the first and Laura Agard was able to head Fiorentina level. There was clear frustration that Milan had failed to hold their lead again.
The Rossonere will be left wondering what might have been, but it is a result that Davide Corti certainly would have taken if offered at the start. It does mean that Milan remain in eighth in Serie A Femminile.
