As the days remaining in the January transfer window tick by, AC Milan have still not signed the centre-back that Stefano Pioli feels that they need.
During his pre-match press conference before the Udinese game, Pioli confirmed that he would like a centre-back and a central midfielder to arrive before the end of the month.
According to what SportMediaset (via MilanNews) are reporting however, the management are still reflecting on whether or not to sign another central defender in the last few days of the mercato.
Before making the decision on whether to commit financial resources towards another centre-back, they want to have some more certainty on when the injured Malick Thiaw, Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu will return, but it won’t be soon.
The name that tops the wish list at the moment is Lilian Brassier, but he will only arrive if Brest accept the €10m bid that Milan want to officially put on the table.
At the moment they are continuing to demand €15m for the 24-year-old, a figure deemed too high fby Geoffrey Moncada and his team of collaborators.
In the background, the profiles of Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea and Jakub Kiwior from Arsenal remain, though the Gunners are not currently entertaining the idea of a loan.
