AC Milan are very close to being able to officially announce that Rafael Leao has extended his contract by four years, we have learned.
There are now widespread reports that nearly everything is agreed and that Leao will put pen to paper after a long negotiation and extend his contract with the Rossoneri until 2028.
This should come as no surprise to avid readers of the site, who will recall our exclusive from a few days ago in which we stated the announcement could arrive before the end of the week.
While some places are calling it a done deal already, we can reveal that it is ‘almost but not yet done’, because the parties hope that the final part of the renewal negotiations will be concluded tomorrow.
All that remains is for Milan to agree with the terms put forward by Leao and his father, but just as Fabrizio Romano reports the plan is to get everything signed in the coming days.
The Portuguese winger’s entourage are in fact already in Milano in order to seal the new contract and bring a positive end to a negotiation that seemed for a long time like it might never reach a conclusion.
