Benjamin Pavard is expected to leave Bayern Munich this summer and AC Milan have previously expressed their interest in the player. The competition is fierce, though, as highlighted by a recent report.
Pavard’s contract will expire next year and it doesn’t look like a renewal is on the cards, which is why Bayern Munich are evaluating a sale. According to Christian Falk for CaughtOffisde, the right-back has made it very clear that he wants to leave.
Milan have expressed their interest in the past, as the report states, but Liverpool have now emerged as a hot candidate in the race. The entourage of Pavard has also held talks with the likes of Barcelona, Inter and Chelsea.
Amid the departure of Sergino Dest, Milan could perhaps sign a right-back this summer but that position is certainly not a priority. They already have Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi specifically for that role, while Pierre Kalulu can also play there when needed.
In short, a move for Pavard seems unlikely, especially given the fierce competition.
