Bayern Munich’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has suggested that the German side will be attempting to renew the contract of AC Milan-linked defender Benjamin Pavard, a report claims.
As was said by the director to Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), the Bundesliga champions will be talking to Pavard to try and understand his wishes.
His contract expires in June 2024 which means that if he decides against renewing, Bayern will lose him for free if they do not sell this coming summer.
Milan are thought to be very keen on the World Cup winner who can play at both centre-back and right-back, providing more competition to Davide Calabria.
Salihamidzic’s comments suggest that the club would like him to renew his deal but they are wary that he may have a desire to try and play elsewhere soon.
“We will discuss with Benjamin Pavard about his new contract and try to understand his feelings in order to make a decision. I am happy that he is with us, he is doing so well and the performances are very good,” the director said.
