AC Milan allowed Charles De Ketelaere to join Atalanta during the summer transfer window and a report claims to have the official figures of the operation.
According to BergamoNews – who claim to have access to Atalanta’s accounts from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023 – the real figures of De Ketelaere’s loan move have been revealed.
The formula is a paid loan costing €3m plus an option to buy set at €22m and a further €2m in bonuses, thus making a total of €27m.
In his first and presumably only season at Milan, De Ketelaere had made 40 appearances in the league and cups with one assist to his name. So far with La Dea he has played 17 games, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
Milan purchased De Ketelaere from Club Brugge in the summer of 2022 for €35.5m (these are the figures recorded in the accounts of the Rossoneri). The player signed a five-year contract, until 30 June 2027, worth €2.2m net per season.
Therefore, CDK cost Milan exactly €9.98m when factoring in the annual amortisation of the transfer fee (€7.1m) and the gross salary (€2.88m, with the Growth Decree).
After another year of amortisation in the summer of 2024, the residual value will be €21.3m which means that Milan would make a capital gain of €700k in the event he is bought by the Bergamo club.
Poor buying.
40 million spent, to gain 700k.
Wrong player in the wrong system with the wrong coach. Glad it looks like Milan will get a redo on this one…
lool what is the capital gain on 3 goals in the champions league? 100 million at risk. Quit flipping numbers here to try to make it look like we did a good move by quitting on him. It was dumb as hell and we never got another player who could play upfront to help Giroud. We had to keep him, not loan him to maybe make 700k. 6 points so far this season in a new team, new coach, is pretty good for his age. It was a dumb move. Pretty sure are rested Giroud could have done better in some CL games this year and CDK could have benefited from learning hold up play from him as well player striker. Of course we got number flippers and morons for management.
Jeopardize 100 million to brag about making 700k, I bet that is what they are doing, congratulating themselves.
They provably do that too for letting Hakan go to save 1 million here or there, becuase he asked 300k on the wage budget more than they anticipated…let a 40 million dollar asset walk, for the chance to save 16 million on the wage budge over 4 seasons. Brilliant computer motorheads making decisions here.
