Cardinale ‘proud’ and praises Milan for Genoa win: “What champions are made of”

By Isak Möller -

Following the important win against Genoa, AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale sent a message to the team and also shared a few comments with the media. As you can imagine, the American is happy with the start of the season.

Stefano Pioli and his men have collected 21/24 points in the league, earning the spot at the top of the table. It’s safe to say that they have recovered from the derby defeat, which looks more like an anomaly at this point than a problem.

Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by SempreMilan.it, Cardinale shared his thoughts on the start of the season. He also praised the team for their performance against Genoa, a game he watched while at the airport.

“The season is still at the beginning and the boys continue to consolidate themselves as a team. However, I’m proud of the character and determination they showed last night on the pitch. This is what champions are ultimately made of.”

In his message to the team, as stated by the newspaper, Cardinale also complimented Pioli on his four-year anniversary at the club. It remains to be seen if Milan can keep it up after the international break.

  1. Calm down, the first real test was against inter and we were woefully humiliated.
Next 2 league games will be crucial to determine if we are doing like champions or not.

    1. Doesnt matter if we lose again next derby but win the other match. This is a League with 38 Games count not knockout tournament

  2. I’ve seen before on posts like these, the comments going on about sacking Pioli and about how we just have to wait and see how bad our team really is. You people need to regain composure and realize the negativity you write comes from nowhere except from your negative attitude. I wonder what’ll happen when the team loses a game, y’all will explode lol

    1. never seen a fanbase who want their own team to fail as much as people here

They want their fairy tale Milan led by Maldini, coached by whoever is the flavour of the month and sacked as soon as the next big name pops up.
