Today will be a crucial day regarding Samuel Chukwueze and the role that he will play in tomorrow night’s Europa League play-off round first leg tie against Stade Rennais.
As Calciomercato.com write, the hope is that Chukwueze has gotten over the disappointment of Nigeria’s defeat in the Africa Cup of Nations final against the Ivory Coast, a game that they led in.
Chukwueze is ready to dive back into his adventure with Milan having not played since the first game of January, and the right winger is expected back in Italy tomorrow to return to training under Stefano Pioli’s orders.
The winger is in good physical condition and the feeling is that he will immediately be called up for the game against Rennes at San Siro tomorrow night, which will be at San Siro and will kick off at 21:00 CET.
Milan actually have Chukwueze to thank for the fact they are in the Europa League at all given that the Nigerian scored the winning goal against Newcastle which earned them qualification to the detriment of the English club.
Despite the fact he is in good shape, Samu will still start from the bench because Christian Pulisic will still be the starter on the right flank.
I was hoping Chuk would have a strong tournament that he could build on when he returned but it wasn’t great for him individually. Still, he’s fit and has time to contribute.
Yeah I rly don’t get it. He was killing it in villa real. Hope he finds back to his winning way
