While there is a lot of focus on the signings that AC Milan might make during the January transfer window, there are also some players who could make way too.
According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan’s winter mercato will be fluid and will be based around seizing the right opportunities to fine tune the squad both in terms of incomings and outgoings.
The directors know that priorities can change day by day and are working across multiple negotiating tables, including possible exits to try to please dissatisfied players, first and foremost Rade Krunic who ‘pulled the plug’ on his time at Milan weeks ago.
In recent discussions with the management, Krunic was given the green light to be sold in January despite Tommaso Pobega’s injury and Ismael Bennacer’s departure towards the African Cup of Nations. The Bosnian’s agents will now have to bring a concrete offer to Milan of no less than €4m.
Chaka Traorè is expected to go on loan abroad, a couple of requests have arrived, while for Luka Romero the initial idea was to loan him out but the Argentine should stay until the end of the season to make up for Samuel Chukwueze’s departure for AFCON.
Finally, Mattia Caldara: Milan hope that his agent can find him a new club six months before his contract expires, otherwise he will leave for free in June.
Why not use Caldara to cover our defense since we have so many defenders out injured? Caldara is a good defender but for reason he is not an option for us even when he’s fit.
He isn’t fit though and the fact that none of our coaches has had any trust in him after his injury should make it fairly clear that he isn’t good enough for us. Atalanta didnt want him back either after his loan spell with them. Unfortunately he probably isn’t suited for any serie a teams except bottom tier ones.
Caldara is an injury prone bum. He might have been good 5-6 years ago.
