AC Milan and Stefano Pioli will be watching with intrigue when Charles De Ketelaere takes the field for Atalanta against his parent club this evening.
As pointed out by Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News), De Ketelaere has got a fresh opportunity to impress Pioli first-hand as he is expected to start the match for La Dea at the Gewiss Stadium on Saturday evening.
He is currently on loan from the Rossoneri but in Serie A, loanees are allowed to play against their parent clubs unless a clause has already been inserted in the loan contract saying otherwise.
Atalanta have an option to sign De Ketelaere on a permanent deal, but Milan will be watching his progress closely to see if he should return to the club at the end of the season.
As Pioli said in his press conference on Friday: “De Ketelaere is playing in a more offensive role, he is a prospective player and if he plays we will need to watch closely in the defensive phase.”
He has performed well so far with Atalanta and will be very keen to show Milan why they signed him in the first place.
