Joshua Zirkzee will lead the line for Bologna tonight against AC Milan at San Siro, and it could be an audition of sorts for the young centre-forward.
This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) talks about both Milan’s transfer plans and this evening’s match against Bologna. The common denominator is Zirkzee, the Rossoneri’s opponent this evening.
The Dutchman could be one of the possible future coups for Geoffrey Moncada and his collaborators, given that he is right near the top of the list of targets for the centre-forward role.
Zirkzee returns to San Siro after he put on a show in the Coppa Italia against Inter, and this evening he will face Milan who for months have been tracking him in view of the summer mercato.
The newspaper are almost certain that the Rossoneri will make an attempt, but the €40m release clause in his current contract is only valid for Bayern Munich.
The other interested clubs, including Milan, will have to negotiate with Bologna and it is a negotiation that could still be complex.
There are many Premier League clubs who of course have the financial resources to bid more than Milan. Still, we decided to take a look at how the team could line up next season with Zirkzee under Thiago Motta.
