Ahead of the clash between AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, the Rossoneri CEO Giorgio Furlani stopped to speak to the media. Among other things, he spoke about the potential return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the injury struggles.
After just two points in the opening three rounds, Milan need to bounce back with a win or at least a draw in tonight’s clash against PSG. It won’t be easy, though, and especially not if you consider that the first leg ended 3-0 in favour of the French side.
Speaking to Mediaset, as cited by MilanNews, Furlani shared his thoughts on a few topics including the importance of tonight’s game. Getting knocked out of the group stage would be far from ideal financially, after all.
On the game…
“An important match to move forward in the Champions League, we are determined”.
On the group…
“We are united, all together with the staff, the manager. The group is united.”
On Cardinale…
“I talk to Gerry every day, and when he’s in Milan I’m with him. It’s a nice photo to show that we’re happy together.”
On Ibrahimovic…
“There is this possibility. Ibra was a great champion and I would be happy to work with him. Let’s see.”
Does Zlatan share that view?
“Ask him”
On injuries…
“Injuries have been a problem, we have to work on them. Let’s see if there will be opportunities to reinforce the defence in January.”
Stefano Pioli has made two changes to the starting XI compared to the reverse fixture, with Tijjani Reijnders starting in the No.6 role instead of Rade Krunic. Davide Calabria will also play from start this time out.
