Lorenzo Colombo is expected to leave AC Milan on another loan and Monza appear to be in pole position for his services. In fact, Adriano Galliani confirmed the interest ahead of their game against Inter tonight.
The 21-year-old striker spent last season on loan at Lecce and he has asked to go out on loan again for this season. Monza have more or less reached an agreement with Milan, per Gianluca Di Marzio, and only the final go-ahead is missing.
Speaking to Sky Italia (via Francesco Nasato) ahead of the clash against Inter, Monza CEO and former Milan CEO Galliani commented on the rumours. He confirmed that they indeed are interested in the services of Colombo: “We are looking to sign Colombo because he’s an excellent player,” he stated.
Milan are looking for a new striker on the mercato, given the aforementioned, and their two primary targets appear to be Armando Broja and Hugo Ekitike. For now, though, Colombo is still within the ranks.
Much better option than Genoa or Cagliari.
He will start for Monza and he will work under a very good young up and coming coach in Palladino.
Also Monza has bigger ambition than just staying in the league
And Palladino is our next coach
Nope, De Zerbi is the man
Out of reach I’m afraid.
Yeah. I personally want Arne Slot, but I don’t know if we can get him.
I’ll take either. Luckily, we always have the De Zerbi connection
I don’t think we would be able to afford to snatch De Zerbi in the middle of the season as I have strong feelings that Pioli wouldn’t last any longer, nobody can be really letting good players leave, while forcing stays for non quality starters, not wanting to use players according to their areas of strength and never giving the youth any chance at all in league matches
Tonali agreed to be sold to help Milan out. Little Bo Peep cost 30mil and had one assist and zero goals. Colombo wants to leave.
No one’s forcing Krunic to stay either, he’s up for sale isn’t he?
Would probably be a better option for Colombo on a dry loan only.
We should ideally try and limit loans (full stop but in addition) to specific feeder clubs preferably with groups of players going out on loan to the same clubs so as to maintain partnerships.
Monza are a good option and also offer Serie A experience which is a bonus.
Clearly Colombo is considered Serie A level so really the question is why isn’t he Milan level- are Milan not in Serie A?
Cause he’s not good enough for Milan? Kinda like your favorite De Sciglio
Shut up once Milan signs a player they must never sell them – ever! No matter how average – sorry, amazing – they are.
Or they could maybe not change one third of the squad every season.
We have no idea what level he is since he’s barely played for us.
PS Do you hate every Milan player for the last 15 years?
Apparently, every serie A club is equal according to you.
I guess there are no levels between Milan and Lecce or Milan and Monza.
He isn’t Milan level because he isn’t good enough to start or be a backup for Milan, and Colombo doesn’t want to spend a year on the bench. That’s why HE, the player, is pushing to leave. The club couldn’t care less if he was on the team or not. He is on a very low salary.
Well we did struggle to beat Cremonese, Spezia and Lecce last season…..
How exactly is anyone forming a view on Colombo considering he’s barely played for us?
I disagree. He is a talented young player. Did well in preseason. Had a decent first season in Serie A, playing for a terrible team.
I see no reason he wouldn’t be at least as prolific as Giroud this season. Last year colombo scored 5 and Giroud 12 (inflated by his 3 goals against a relegated team).
10 goals would be a good haul for Giroud or Colombo this season.
