Adriano Galliani, the former AC Milan CEO, is looking forward to the EuroDerby in the Champions League. That is, the clashes between AC Milan and Inter in the semi-final, which will divide the city of Milano.
Milan and Inter both dream of the final but only one team can make it there. The first leg is scheduled for May 10th and the other will be played on May 16th, meaning we will soon find out who will face Man City or Real Madrid in the final.
Speaking to Mediaset, as cited by MilanNews, the former Milan CEO and current Monza CEO Adriano Galliani shared his thoughts on the EuroDerby. He also revealed that he recently had dinner with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.
“Milan has something that no city in Europe has, none of them have two teams that have won the Champions League. EuroDerby? It’s wonderful for Italian football, even if I won’t share my full thoughts because I have a very good relationship with Inter. I can say that a team from Milano will make it to the Champions League final.”
“If I will support Milan? Thirty-one years cannot be forgotten. Istanbul? 15 days ago I was having dinner in Madrid with Ancelotti, we remembered all the matches, the finals and we remembered that this year’s final is also in Istanbul,” he concluded.
Both Ancelotti and Milan are looking for revenge in Istanbul, where this year’s final will be played, after the loss to Liverpool back in 2005. It remains to be seen if they will meet there or not.
