AC Milan are reflecting on the position of Stefano Pioli as coach more than ever before following the 2-2 draw away at Salernitana on Friday night.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri are far from happy with the result and the trend that it continued from the previous weeks.
Milan are expecting to fall even further behind Inter and Juventus at the top of the table thanks to the draw, whilst teams beneath them will get even closer once again, meaning Champions League qualification is far from secured.
Owner Gerry Cardinale is said to be very concerned about both the poor form and the repeated muscle injuries that his players are suffering from, Fikayo Tomori being the latest player to limp off the pitch whilst clutching their hamstring.
He will of course hold power of what the club do next, whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his new specials advisor role is also expected to hold some power over over Pioli’s future.
Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada will also be involved in any discussions that would lead to the sacking of Pioli or a display of faith in the coach who is now under serious pressure to get the season back on track.
Only miraculous next half season with 16 or 17 winning spree can bring us to 20th scudetto and hold PioLOL to stay as manager
Milan should sign Hansi Flick as head coach
Will he accept a job in such a dire situation?
Yes hand flick or Julian negelsman
You can have a draw with good organized play due to unluck. But here we have bad results in pair with bad game… and no matter what schema 3-4-3, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 lack of ideas and quality observed.
Our tactics for every game ‘Dai,dai, dai’
This season Pioli got caught up in his evolutionary, offensive fluid positioning system’s ,inviting man to man play tactics that have derailed the team and his position as coach. He stubbornly stuck to his guns abandoning compactness and pragmatism which one him the Scudetto previously. This has been his fault.
He must also bear some responsibility for the many , many injuries.
Now the problem is , who can really replace him mid-season without creating even more chaos.
Sorry andriyP ,that wasn’t meant as a reply to your comment.
get me villas boas
He has retired, I think
He does love his rally.
Chance it with Tudor?
I’m partial for Motta in summer
Tudor could be a good short term option.
Enzo Maresca should be the best option but that’f for summer.
Just sack the man already before we sink finish
Julian negelsman is the best option let’s sacks Pioli Stefano fast before he cause a Acmilan form were they can’t qualify for champions league the earlier the better so the 4-2-3-1 is Good because Acmilan have masterminded the tactics surrounding the 4-2-3-1 but in the 4-3-3 we don’t know how to build team play and the coach is still insist therefore causing us more failure in which we lack flexibility so without no story Acmilan management should sack Pioli fast if we want to qualify for champions league
shut up
No one is considering zlatko Dalic
If we are going to replace Pioli (and I am beginning to see that as necessary) I’d like to see Graham Potter considered.
I’m not saying he should win out, bit of the names tossed out who are available he stands above for his style. And Chelsea were better under him than at any time since.
Thoughts?
It’s hard to see a foreign coach on the Milan bench unless it’s a former Milanista or a coach that has experience in Italy. Not only would he need time to adapt, but many of the new players brought in are still adapting in themselves…
My issue is that there needs to be a plan in the summer. Who do we want? And if it’s not the same person that can take over now, then who do you place in charge now? Ibra and Abate? Seems like a knee jerk move, like something DeLaurentis would do.
