AC Milan’s 2023 has shifted from concern to disaster, and last night’s defeat against Spezia might just be the lowest point yet for the team.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) report, when a team are called over by their fans after a game it is rarely a good sign. It is true that the Milan players go over to the supporters no matter what the result, yet there was something a bit different about yesterday.
Even Stefano Pioli was there for the exchange with the Curva Sud at the end of the match, and during his post-match interview he was asked what was said between the fans and his players.
“What happened under the Curva is a positive thing. We went to greet them as we always do. My presence? It’s normal to go under the Curva in other situations too. They just stimulated us, encouraged to give the maximum,” he said.
It wasn’t a heated confrontation therefore but rather an attempt by the supporters to give energy and motivation to the Milan team not only ahead of the match against Inter on Tuesday but also for the end of the season in general.
There was a beautiful image of the team heading towards the dressing room accompanied by the chants of their supporters: ‘Come on fight, win, we will never leave you’ and ‘We want 11 lions’.
Encouragement has always been there from the Curva to the team and Pioli’s group know it. Now, the Curva Sud have called all Milan fans to go to Milanello at 12 to make it known that they are close to the team in their hour of need.
Pioli has given his best again just like previous caretakers it’s time to say thank you and goodbye
Milan need to address the issues head on and refresh the playing group and firstly management is a priority
Otherwise they will fall into that black hole again
Pioli out what a senseless coach
