AC Milan are expecting to welcome YunusMusah back to the squad ahead of the match against Empoli but the same cannot be said for Noah Okafor, a report claims.
According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the American midfielder is on the right track after being out of action since before the final Champions League group stage match against Newcastle.
He is a valuable option in the midfield for Stefano Pioli and he will be a contender for a starting spot in the midfield against Empoli if he is making the sport of progress that is being reported.
Unfortunately for Milan, the same situation does not apply to Swiss forward Okafor who had started to find some form before his injury.
The Empoli game is going to come too soon for him but a return against AS Roma on the following weekend seems very plausible.
The other player who should soon return from injury is backup goalkeeper Marco Sportiello. He should be fit again before the Empoli match but he is unfortunate to have missed tonight’s Cagliari match in the Coppa Italia as he likely would have started the game. Mike Maignan will remain in goal.
