AC Milan are believed to be looking for one more piece to complete their midfield even after the signing of Yunus Musah, and Morten Hjulmand is a name circled in red.
La Gazzetta dello Sport write how Hjulmand has fallen in love with Italy, something which increases the chances of him staying in Serie A if he does decide to take the next step and leave Lecce.
He loves the country first of all thanks to a trip with his parents between Lazio and Tuscany in the summer of 2017. He came through the Copenhagen youth team, went to Austrian side Admira Wacker in January 2021 and then made it to Lecce.
Last season he amassed 35 appearances, but above all he inherited the captain’s armband from Lucioni and grew with his performances, becoming one of the Giallorossi’s leaders. He led them for key passes (26), big chances (3) and assists (4),
In two and a half years with Lecce he put together 95 appearances and over the months his value has risen to reach €20m. It is a figure that, in the event of a sale, would guarantee the club a nice capital gain.
On the pitch, he is a Viking: a player with personality and character who is always ready to take a step forward when it comes to battle.
All of this has caught the attention of some English teams, Borussia Dortmund and Sporting CP too, the club that has shown the most interest in the last few days.
Hjulmand was clear with Lecce, explaining his intentions to consider any substantial proposals to continue the climb. Milan likes him a lot, but their ability to launch a concrete offer depends on other situations, like Rade Krunic’s potential sale.
Kessie to Al Ahli for 15 mil. Oli, you talk about him been ok for leaving us if he wanted to join Barca or Real. What about now. Instead of telling them. If you don’t want me release me and i go back to Milan or i stay here and complete my contract. Instead he went and jump on the Arab money train..
Oh please. What is Al Ahli paying him every year? 20 million euros a season. He’s chasing after money right now. You’d honestly think he would want to return? We wouldn’t pay more than 4 million a year.
I wouldnt wantt kessie back if we could have gotten him but come on its a clear lack of ambitions at the age of 26 to waste his career there even if the money is great. He could propably at least have found a club in the epl or bundesliga, Clearly he follows the trail of money otherwise he wouldnt join them to begin with.
Anyways im just glad we didnt attempt and succeeded in bringing him back.
Yeah and reunions rarely work out.
indeed it rarely works out well, the only two i can sorta think of currently is diego fuser whom there really wasnt much room for at that time and due to milans banter era and the state of the club id gladly have kept kaka for a year or two more even though he wasnt exactly the same player that left years before.
Oh fuser was loaned out so doesnt really count then 😀
Ibra is one of the few reunions we had that was a success, but it was down to his mentality.
Haha damn how could i forget him, must be getting tired 😀
Man, I’d love it if people would stop talking about gold diggers and flops of the past and focus on the future.
These guys clearly don’t have anything going for them. They carry every wound and perceived slight thinking it makes them martyrs. Conceded yet still insecure in their opinions they refuse to enjoy any trust or opportunity for optimism. Sad that some don’t understand how to enjoy a trivial thing like calcio and attempt to drag the whole community down to their level…
💯%. It’s this whole victimhood “woe is me” culture but applied to football 😭.
How about the present – as in the players who actually play for the club you support that everyone wants to get rid of?
As far as I can gather there’s about 3-4 players in the squad where there’s majority support: Maignan, Theo and Leao (and maybe Bennacer).
Everyone else is pretty much up for grabs and it would probably only take a dip in form from Leao (or indeed him struggling to adapt to a more balanced attack on the right) that would see fans turn.
Fickle bunch modern fans.
I can’t wait to spend the season defending the players I didn’t want signed in the first place…..
Gabbia has left on loan for game time. Your “create a hole to patch a hole” theory doesn’t work. He needs to play but he’s too big a risk for us, he’s stalled. Tomori was there for the taking last season and he still couldn’t get a look in. We’ve been linked with fresh young kids and reliable back up – gabbia is neither of those. He MIGHT come back from Valencia as the latter though.
CDK same; he’s less likely to come back but he was an actual liability last season. “He just needed game time…” whenever he got it he blew it. You have to show SOMETHING to justify the game time you need to grow.
Krunic (even though he came later) feels like a relic from the banter days. I don’t know where these Ambro comparisons come from, he’s Borini 2.0. Also he was staying until he started waving ultimatums about.
Rebic’s race is run
Origi could have stayed, for me, but he’s easy money.
Ballo is simply not a good player. I can’t believe anyone wants him.
Messias’ future seems to be in his hands. He’s been told he’s way down the list of starters and the next move seems to be his – fair.
We are signing all these midfielder because Bennacer is out till realistically February, and then he’s probably leaving next summer when someone triggers the release clause he asked for.
Gabbia left because it was obvious he had no future at the club and he, like most youth players, was held to a higher standard than new signings.
Gabbia could’ve solved our 4th choice for a decade if we had just shown him the tinniest bit of hope.
The “create a hole to patch a hole” is the entire transfer market. The literally thousands of players that will be shipped around like cattle this transfer window have got nothing to do with actual footballing requirements.
It’s just the media driving content, fans playing fantasy football, directors pandering to the media and fans and justifying their existence, agents making a fortune, and players make cash at the cost of their development.
No other sport does this. It’s madness. And it’s destroying the game.
As for Milan this summer, we’ve seen this all before: the fans will turn on the new signings and I’ll have to defend signings that I didn’t want in the first place.
But this is life.
Oh the whole Ambrosini thing is to take an example of a player who would simply not make it today because they would’ve been loaned and transferred and replaced so many times.
This notion that Italy used to produce these god like figures and suddenly stopped seems a little unlikely. It would be good if people could apply their critical brains but it seems they’re so mesmerised by the transfer market.
I actually agree with you about the idea of transfers for contents sake and I’ve made the same comment on here before. We have signed Pulisic and RLC because they are victims of this at Chelsea, but they make us better (certainly Pulisic does and RLC has the ability to). I don’t see a single signing we’ve made that hasn’t made us better in the long term to be honest dude.
I couldn’t agree less on Ambro. He did go out on loan, looked great, came back and won everything and formed a key part of a once in a generation squad. Do you honestly see that in Gabbia?
Not only that, but Maldini aside (because that was a long time earlier), Ambro was the only player from the Prima that made any impression on that side – this isn’t a new phenomenon that is suddenly “ruining the game”.
The individual signings are fine, it’s the collective disruption that is the problem and that could well cause none of the new signings to reach their potential.
I really don’t understand where this notion comes from that Ambrosini (or indeed Nicky Butt or Giaccherini or Jordan Henderson or other league winners who were Average Joe’s) were these phenomenons….
And that for me is the real measure of a successful team – when Average Joe’s play like superstars. And they play like superstars because the team has stability.
Come on , just stop this ” bring back kessie ” . There is still many player outside there better than him, kessie are chasing big money from his start career, Roma already deal contract with him & deal price with atalanta verbally but fassone offer more salary than Roma so he cancel deal with Roma and forcing atalanta sell him to ACM ,from the beginning whoever can offer him more money he will go there, i dont blame him because it is his choice but im glad ACM didnt try bring him back
I said this hundred times, the more important thing is about the role & characteristic, more than just the figure. And ’till this minute we still don’t have the replacement. Musah, he might be. But clearly he’s still needed to be molded. It’s clear as day that the Kessie’s role is vital in Pioli’s system.
So emotion, personal preference, romanctism, gold diggin’, and other unrelated to football reasonings aside, it’s only logical that some of us here want to bring him back. Of course 20 mil is the kind of compensation for you to play in such league & comp like in Saudi. Didn’t hear anything about such figures when he’s connected with Juve or Spurs.
What’s done is done. I just hope that we can get the role replacement, whoever he is. Or the other option is for Pioli to change / adapt his system, which is unlikely. After all it’s his 5th year in Milan.
Morten is one of my favourite Target ,after Reinjders. He is perfect for the DM. He reminds me of Tonali in the way he goes in for battles in the midfield areas. If we could garauntee him playing time and a good contract, we did be fine with him. If we could get around 10m for krunic and sell Origi. We must move in for him.He is long range passing is on point too. On the counter he could just release the Ball to left or right wing and there is a release to Okafor in good position to score.
Yes everything you said is right Morten hjumand is similar to tonali yes
Could have bought Koopmeiners instead of rlc.we should buy good players not revive good players
Agreed. We can get Koop instead of both RLC and Musah. But looks like we aim more toward quantity than quality on this TW.
He is a professional. He’ll be paid 60 million total in three years which will get him set for life, money-wise. Why wouldn’t he accept it? It’s A LOT of money, and everybody here who criticizes him would have accepted the same deal. Besides, this is not the end of his career. He can play there for 3 years, collect 60 million euro, and then go play elsewhere. Anyway, the useful playing life of a footballer is limited and Kessie is right about securing his financial future and the future of his family by earning 60 million euro in three years.
Talk for yourself i wouldnt even go there on holiday so no and you are not correct and he was already set for life by what he has earned already. Not everyone makes their decisions on getting more filthy rich or even cares that much about money to begin with but sure you might do it but thats the only thing you can be sure of. Then there the entire question if people wants to support a corrupt regime that doesnt care about human rights,
They couldn’t pay me 250 million in a year to live there. Many players have refused to go there.
250M???? LOL. Ya right. We’d all be on a plane. For 250M – train in day then fly home to Dubai to your mansion each at night lol
Juro i assume you are finnish is that correct and would you still like to move to russia for the sake of a great pay day ? there are moral questions to be asked and not support despots whitewashing their regimes in how they are percieved, Everything and everyone cant be bought for money as there are greater stakes at play.
Chiesa seems to have refused a 20 mil a year there in recent days, my respect for him grew exponentially there, Yeah they can keep their money and whitewashing to themselves.
His future is already secured. He’s a gold-digger. If he was a Muslim, then you could understand the move. For Benzema, Mane, Mahrez, Koulibaly and Kante, the idea of living in a Muslim country and raising their families in a Muslim country would be very appealing.
So is 60m what a person needs to be set up for life these days?
If so it looks I’ll never be set up!
Maybe he’ll spend the money on a bunker to deal with climate change.
At this rate I’ll welcome any DM. But he’s good. He’s good, Dominguez’s good Koopmeiners’ awesome, just get any proper DM ffs
Unfortunately Pioli is in love with that bum Krunic, he’s probably fighting the brass about getting an upgrade
@martin oh stfu you racist asshole, how can a racist like you be a Milan fan is beyond me,go get your brain check
I didnt say one single racist thing so no im not a racist but if it makes me one in your eyes or the saudi regime ill take it as a badge of honor, Just to make it clear i wouldnt support israel either so stfu.
I simply doesnt want to support corrupt regimes like the saudis just as well that i wouldnt want to support putins russia either,
Give L Colombo and Take him away from them
