AC Milan and Inter occupy positions inside the top five when it comes to the amount of fans that they welcomed for home games in 2022-23.
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes how Inter and Milan are third and fourth respectively in the ranking for most accumulative home fans for last season.
The Milanese sides are ahead of even Real Madrid (who had a partial stadium closure), Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, PSG and other European heavyweights.
Almost four million spectators combined were at San Siro for the Nerazzurri and Rossoneri’s games in 2022-23. Only London – with seven Premier League teams – and Manchester did better.
As per the report published by UEFA, Inter had 1.97m fans at games last season while Milan had 1.86m, so there is a minimum difference between the two.
In fifth place were Manchester City (1.8m), then Roma (1.78m). The Nerazzurri prevailed in the league and Coppa Italia (where they had more games), while Milan attracted more spectators in the Champions League.
In Serie A: Inter (1.379m) versus Milan (1.364m). In the Coppa Italia: Inter (165k), Milan (58k). In the Champions League: Milan (435k), Inter (428k).
