AC Milan are not just focusing on the attacking department this summer as they are also looking to reinforce the midfield too, and a new target has emerged.
According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Ismael Bennacer’s injury is a big blow to the midfield department as he will only be available again in November and thus more depth is needed.
It seems the hottest name at the moment is Morten Hjulmand who shone for Lecce last season. La Gazzetta recall how he got an average rating of 6.34 across all games last season, the highest among the midfielders in the team actually among the highest in the league.
Lecce want €25m but Milan have not been put off and they believe that bonuses could bring the parties closer together, with the headline indicating a deal could be done around €20m.
The idea of pairing Hjulmand with Sandro Tonali – at least until Bennacer gets back – would guarantee the Rossoneri a solid midfield foundation on which to build the future.
Hjulmand responds perfectly to the club’s vision too because he is young but has experience, he knows Serie A and he will not have an extortionate asking price. However, Dortmund are keen as the Dane is seen as a potential replacement for Jude Bellingham.
Noooooo!!! Are we going to buy the slowest midfielder in the world, who for that very reason is a foul-committing machine?
Don’t worry brother – we won’t spend 20-25M for one player plus Dortmund will easily out bid us and offer him more salary – so nothing to worry about LOL
Check out for Nicholas Dominguez of Bologna. A real pressing machine. He’s the perfect partner of Tonali.
