AC Milan put one foot in the last 16 of the Europa League thanks to a brilliant performance at San Siro against Stade Rennais, emerging 3-0 victors.
In truth the the Rossoneri could hardly be happier with how the first leg of the tie went for his side, given that they will take a three-goal advantage to Brittany next week and have a foot in the last 16.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) has the ratings from the game, starting with the overall performance and Stefano Pioli’s night as head coach which both earned a 7.5 out of 10.
The best player on the pitch was Ruben Loftus-Cheek whose match-winning brace earned him a score of 8, while the ‘worst’ player was Olivier Giroud and he still managed to score a 6.
Mike Maignan and Simon Kjaer got a 6.5 in the rearguard, while Alessandro Florenzi, Matteo Gabbia and Theo Hernandez got half a point more for their contributions to the clean sheet.
Tijjani Reijnders and Yunus Musah were the midfield duo and they were awarded a 6.5, with Ismael Bennacer coming off the bench in the second half and getting a 6.
Christian Pulisic was much more involved than in recent games so he was given a 7, then Rafael Leao was the one who equalled Loftus-Cheek’s score of 8.
Noah Okafor and Malick Thiaw also came off the bench in the second half and were scored a 6.
