The officiating crew got all the major decisions right during AC Milan’s comeback win against Frosinone last night, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
It was not a vintage performance by any means from Milan as they again had to come from 2-1 behind late on in the game away from home, with Luka Jovic the hero off the bench inside the final 10 minutes.
The paper (as seen below) talks about how there was a check on the goal that made it 1-0 to Milan because of Olivier Giroud’s position on Rafael Leao’s cross which was kept in play by Romagnoli.
There was a potential foul by Tijjani Reijnders on Soulé when recovering the ball, but the referee and the VAR crew rightly determined that it was not something to cause the goal to be overturned.
They also got the call right for the penalty that the hosts were awarded in the 22nd minute. Leao had his body outside the area but his left hand inside the box and in an unnatural position, which partly blocked Gelli’s cross from the right.
The double touch of the hand from Simon Kjaer and Christian Pulisic after a ball from Brescianini in the area was rightly not punished in the 41st minute.
The penalty for me was 50/50 I thought the call on the field was harsh, but it was to close to overturn
