AC Milan will take on Roma tomorrow evening and it’s a very important game for the season, with a good chance to ‘cement’ third place. Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will both be present, for the first time since the Swede’s return.
Milan need to bounce back, following their disappointing defeat against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia, and tomorrow is a great opportunity. As highlighted by Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), it’s a chance to somewhat ‘cement’ their spot in third place.
The club owner Cardinale will be at San Siro for the first time since the defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. He will sit next to Senior Advisor Ibrahimovic, meaning it will be their first time together at the stadium since the Swede’s return was confirmed.
‘A pair of aces’, as the newspaper calls them, and it’s clear that discussions will be held about the future. That is what Ibrahimovic’s role is all about, after all, and the 42-year-old has his eyes set on Antonio Conte for next season.
For now, though, Ibrahimovic will continue to act as a motivator for Stefano Pioli and his players. A win would indeed ease the pressure a lot, while a defeat would drag them back into the top-four race.
In other news, San Siro is sold out for tomorrow and Milan will subsequently surpass 1m spectators for the season. If you are interested in watching a game live, check out our guide on how to buy Milan tickets.
Rumors have it Cardinale is NOT in town to axe Pioli. But for his own sake, Stefano better deliver against Roma.
