AC Milan have a number of different midfield targets on their radar and one of them is reported to be Marko Grujic of Porto.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Grujic is one of Milan’s ideas with regards to giving the final touch to the midfield after the summer reconstruction following the sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United.
Grujic has worked under one of the best managers in world football having spent time at Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp, which served him well as he told DAZN.
“Klopp and his staff have helped me a lot in my personal growth, I’m proud of having had the chance to play for them. I learned a lot from my colleagues in terms of professionalism, I will always be grateful for that chance,” he said.
After loans to Cardiff City and Hertha BSC he decided to move to Porto, where he has become a key figure in Sergei Conceicao’s team and has performed well in the Champions League.
With Porto he collected 39 appearances, 1 goal and 1 assist last season, but above all he often showed characteristics on the pitch that would be useful for Pioli’s football.
From playing in front of the defence (and if necessary in a more advanced position or inside) to technical qualities, and crucially tactical intelligence.

He would be perfect on paper. His stats are impressive, classic defensive mid with also more than decent passing game. Excellent defensively and very physical which helps in aerial duels. UCL experience. A kind of discount version of Rodri, exactly what we need. But I doubt it costs less than 20m.

He’s way better than Krunic no doubt. But this is Porto we are talking about and nothing is a discount.

I think we could sign three new players. A DM, a fullback (Calafiori if he is still available) and maybe even a striker….
If and only if we sell CDK (medical on Monday) , Saelesmaekers and maybe Ballo-Toure.
To bring in three means we have to sell those three.
Now I’d love to see Origi leave the squad but it seems nobody is interested in him at all. Maybe he can leave the team late, but I think it’s irrelevant to signing players.
Yes, Toure and CDK seem like done deals. I Hope we Can sell origi (maybe for a few Millions to get rid of the salary) and Saelesmakers. I like him but Not for the attack. And pioli wont play him as RB.
CDK is like 80% done (barring any other issues), And BalloToure is 60% I think. Saelesmaekers has been linked with an exit.
We do need to bring down the squad size quickly. Caldara (promote Simic) and Lazetic also have to leave.
