Ismael Bennacer is set to make his return to the starting lineup when AC Milan host Napoli at the San Siro on Sunday evening.
The Rossoneri are currently hunting Juventus in second place and they will be facing the current Serie A champions, Napoli, tomorrow. The Partenopei have had a very poor season so far, and they are currently 14 points behind Milan.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), Stefano Pioli is ready to bring Bennacer back into the midfield from the start, taking the place of Tijjani Reijnders. He will be partnered by Yacine Adli, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek pushed into a more advanced role in what should be a 4-2-3-1 formation.
With no central defender arriving in the latter stages of the January transfer window, Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia will be starting together again, with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez on either side of them.
Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao should be flanking Loftus-Cheek, with Olivier Giroud leading the line.
Napoli are going to be without Victor Osimhen as he is at the Africa Cup of Nations final with Nigeria, so Giovanni Simeone is expected to lead the line for Walter Mazzarri’s side.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Gabbia, Hernandez; Adli, Bennacer; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Giroud.
Probable Napoli XI (3-5-1-1): Gollini; Ostigard, Juan Jesus, Rrahmani; Di Lorenzo, Anguissa, Lobotka, Cajuste, Mazzocchi; Kvara; Simeone.
