The backbone of the ‘new Milan’ will be Italian, more so in the staff than the squad. In pole position to replace Stefano Pioli after this season, Ralf Rangnick is working to compose his staff for the job.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), there will be a need for Italian collaborators to help the German manager, guiding him and accelerating his acclimatization to Italian football.
Rangnick has asked for eight staff members, some of whom are already at Milanello. For example, ‘the professor’ has already made it known that Hendrik Almdtadt and Geoffrey Moncada will stay at the club.
Although Italians will be added to the staff, the farewell of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara remains a likely hypothesis. To replace them, the Rossoneri and Rangnick are looking at highly-experienced managers, such as Ariedo Braida.
Milan are evaluating the 74-year-old but there could be other solutions. Another option is Daniele Bonera – currently a collaborator at the club – as he’s adored by the players and esteemed by the whole Milan environment.
