GdS: Thiaw almost ready – when each of Milan’s injured players will return

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have battled various injury emergencies during the key moments of this season, but the situation has been gradually improving recently, or so it feels.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below) writes that Milan have reversed a trend so far, one that reached its worst point at the end of last year. Milan had seven muscle injuries in October, in November there were five, in December four and in January only one.

That one muscle problem this month was for Alessandro Florenzi who spent a brief time out due to an ‘overload in the left adductor region’, and he’s already back.

What about the others? Malick Thiaw aims to be on the field in about 20 days and he will be the first centre-back to return, meaning Matteo Gabbia and Simon Kjaer will have a few more games together yet barring any problems.

Fikayo Tomori will the German follow in March, like Pierre Kalulu who has been out since October 29 which feels like a lifetime ago, and only then will the rearguard be complete again.

Aside from Mattia Caldara – who is not expected to play a part this season anyway – the only player expected to be out until April is Tommaso Pobega, who underwent surgery on his left leg.
