A few weeks back, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s son Maximilian got the opportunity to train with the first team at Milanello. The striker was asked about this while on international duty with Sweden.
After recovering from his injury, the 41-year-old is back in the Swedish national team and it’s not exactly surprising that the press officer decided to send him to the media. He got to answer several questions, including what it was like to train with his son.
The training session, consisting of an internal friendly match, took place back in February and Maximilian played in the same team as his father. A condition for the whole thing, as revealed by Zlatan, since he would’ve run the risk of getting injured otherwise.
“If you ask him, he’s got none of his abilities from me and if you ask me, he’s got all of his abilities from me. It was fun, it was special. I mean how many get to experience playing with your son at the highest level and share the joy with him on the pitch.
“He was charged, he said he wanted to injure me (laughs). I told the manager ‘listen, put us on the same team otherwise it won’t look good’. He challenges me, he’s charged,” he stated.
It remains to be seen if we will see Maximilian with the first team again. What’s certain is that the winning mentality of Zlatan has transferred to his sons. Maybe a bit too much, given the injury intentions.
