AC Milan and Fenerbahce are currently in talks over the transfer of Rade Krunic, who is destined to leave the Rossoneri this month. However, according to a journalist, the Turkish side have also enquired about another player.
Krunic hasn’t played a single minute since the end of November and he’s now keen on leaving Milan. Fenerbahce remain interested, having tried very hard in the summer, and they have already tabled an offer of €4m plus bonuses.
According to the Turkish journalist Arda Birben, Fenerbahce probed the ground for Simon Kjaer in their talks with Milan. The Dane is an important player for the Rossoneri, given the injury situation, but the situation could be different in the summer.
Kjaer has an expiring contract with Milan and a decision will need to be made, so perhaps Fenerbahce wanted to know more about a potential free transfer. The 34-year-old played for the Turkish side for two seasons between 2015 and 2018, so he is certainly familiar with the club.
For now, however, Kjaer is fully focused on Milan and he has previously stated that he wants to end his career with the Rossoneri. Convincing him to return to Turkey, therefore, would not be an easy task.
