Ahead of the clash between AC Milan and Monza at San Siro, Ruben Loftus-Cheek shared his thoughts with the media. He stated that they will need to use the energy gained from the mid-week win against Newcastle.
Although Milan were knocked out of the Champions League, they at least secured a spot in the Europa League with the win against Newcastle. Furthermore, they helped the Italian Association in its pursuit of the fifth Champions League spot for next season.
Speaking to MilanTV ahead of today’s game, as cited by MilanNews, Loftus-Cheek shared his thoughts on Monza and the confidence boost from mid-week. He stated that it won’t be an easy clash for the Rossoneri, as evidenced in the pre-season.
How are you?
“The feelings are good after the victory in Newcastle. We clearly didn’t progress to the next round, but we are focused on today’s challenge.”
How will it be against Monza?
“A tough match, we played against them in the pre-season. Physically it will be tough, but we are ready. We are Milan and a win is expected from us.”
Milan more or less need to clinch all three points today to keep up with the Scudetto contenders Inter and Juventus, who are nine and eight points ahead respectively. A good crowd is expected at San Siro and the fans, as always, are thus behind the team.
