AC Milan will battle it out against Napoli on Sunday evening and for Stefano Pioli, it could be a rather special game as a report points out. In fact, with a summer exit seemingly on the cards, the manager could join the Partenopei.
Pioli’s future with Milan has been heavily discussed in the last few weeks and the manager himself has made it clear that a decision will be made by the club. He remains focused on his Rossoneri duties, of course, but the rumours cannot be completely ignored either.
As reported by the newspaper Il Mattino (via @Guillaumemp), Pioli is on Napoli’s shortlist to replace Walter Mazzarri at the end of the season. Aurelio De Laurentiis has kept his eyes on the manager for quite some time and could make a move in the summer, although Gian Piero Gasperini is also an option.
This will not have a negative impact on Milan, it should be underlined, as a good performance on Sunday could further incentivise Napoli to hire Pioli. The latter has every reason to beat the Partenopei, in other words, but that doesn’t make the clash any less special.
The reverse fixture finished 2-2 despite Milan having a 0-2 lead at the interval and the Rosoneri will thus be out for revenge on Sunday. From a mental point of view, it’s also a very important game ahead of the mid-week Europa League clash against Stade Rennes.
take him. At least milan wont need to pay his salary for a year and he’d do well there
