AC Milan’s interest in signing Jakub Kiwior from Arsenal is genuine and they sent a scout to watch him in action recently, according to a report.
La Gazzetta dello Sport are among the sources to have reported that Kiwior is of interest to Milan, who are looking for a centre-back in the January given the injuries sustained by Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino.
According to Meczyki, Milan are ‘really interested’ in Kiwior and they even sent a scout – Donato Lomonte – to watch him in action for Poland during the international break, asking him to provide a report on his performance.
However, it remains an uphill battle to try and sign Kiwior given that Mikel Arteta has been using the centre-back as part of his rotations this season. From the Gunners’ point of view, loaning the 23-year-old makes little sense without making a signing.
Kiwior has played in eight matches for Arsenal in all competitions this season and started four of them, racking up a total of 368 minutes. Milan like him because of his Serie A experience with Spezia and his versatility.
Won’t happen. We’re too cheap.
