AC Milan are still looking for another central defender this month and the latest name that they are ready to focus on appears to be Alessandro Buongiorno, a report claims.
According to what is being reported by SportMediaset (via MilanNews), Milan is working to try and complete another coup for the defence after the return of Matteo Gabbia and the signing of Filippo Terracciano from Hellas Verona.
In recent days there has been a lot of talk about Lilian Brassier of Brest, but this option has been frozen by the Rossoneri management who now have another player in their sights, which is Buongiorno of Torino.
The Granata captain has a valuation of €25m and the Rossoneri are willing to include a counterpart that Urbano Cairo’s side like a lot: Lorenzo Colombo. The centre-forward is currently on loan at Monza, and he is valued at €15m by Milan.
As of yesterday the hot name seemed to be Radu Dragusin of Genoa but multiple sources are now reporting that the Romania international is expected to be Spurs-bound.
Buongiorno – a 24-year-old who is now an Italy international too – ticks boxes because of his potential to improve further, the fact he is a home-grown player, he knows the league well and can play in a back three or four.
Well ACM need CB . Cannot depend on kjaer , gabbia, simic . I hope they get one that dont need adaptation anymore
Tomori will be back in a month, Thiaw will be back in 2 months probably. Why does Milan need 6 or 7 CBs? For what exactly? They can manage 35 days with those 3 + Theo playing there.
The only reason I would get him is because he is a great defender and left footed but Milan doesn’t need a defender on top of the 5 already at the club.
Thank you very I don’t really understand why we need so much defenders and like you already stated as Gabbia and the Verona guy had arrived we should be to manage till the injured ones start coming and instead focus on other weak wings like central midfield area.
In the current timeline you are right. But Milan will sell a star because of the failed champions League qualification from group. Therefore tomori will most likely to be sold to the premier League and sacrificed
We dont need striker or midfield . CB are urgent . Thats preparation in case conte come next season and use 3CB formation . Kjaer injury prone & stamina dropped after 60-70 min play, gabbia & simic just back up ,Theo better in LB
And I forgot about Pellegrino. That is 6 CBs.
And he’s left-footed. I think he’s an interesting player. If they can lower his price to 10-15m with a Colombo who is apparently not rated by the management/coach, then it’s a good operation. However, it will mean we’ll definitely need a striker in the summer.
Why do we need a left footed CB?
Some of the greatest CB partnerships of all time were both right footed:
– Baresi and Costacurta
– Cannavaro and Thuram
– Adams and Keown
– Ramos and Pepe
– Terry and Carvalho
I’ll tell you what these players did do – they played together in hundreds of matches.
That’s unlikely to happen with Milan’s policy of signing a new CB every transfer window – just because.
Nesta and stam?
Somehow I get sceptical with Torino, who often overvalue their players’ price, such as Belloti.
25 million? Severely overpriced and overrated. He has appeared just twice for the Italian National Team. Torino back to their usual antics. Look elsewhere.
I don’t think 25 is a crazy valuation. Especially given their owner is the second most crazy person in the league. He’s already got 86 starting in the league and this isn’t the first time teams have noticed him.
Crazy owner, crazy valuation. We all see how Belotti is doing right now. 3 goals in 40 appearances for Roma lol.
Ummm…
The name of alessio cerci…
Ring a bell, anyone?
Please don’t get rid of Columbo…
So Torino is going to dilute the value of its 25m asset for a widly overpriced striker who is not even as good as its third choice option who hardly sees playing time?
I’d love to see Colombo trying to play the support role under Juric. That’s complete at odds with what he has done to date.
Let’s face it Colombo’s a goner.
He’s not exactly set the world on fire at Monza (another successful transfer and loan) and he’s Italian AND one of our own youth players so would need to [checks notes], yes, score more 13 goals in 63 matches (Cutrone’s record before we sold and ruined him) to have any chance.
I mean they were desperate to offload Cutrone before he scored a two against Bayern and they reluctantly didn’t put him out to pasture (I mean loan).
And they still piled new strikers on top of him and when he outscored Kalinic, Silva and Higuain, they signed Piątek who (checks notes), yes, he didn’t stick around either….
So expect the same treatment for Colombo. Our only hope is that they don’t break Camarda like they’ve broken so many players.
You would think a person who spends so much time on this Milan-related site is Milan-fan but when you read the constant b*tching how the club RUINS every player and does everything wrong all time time… Well… I dunno. A fan who hates the club he is fan to? I’d say someone has severe mental issues.
The concept that loans “ruin” players is fascinating. It’s as if all these players would have become elite players had they simply been given carte blanche in the first team. But then they get loaned and…forget how to play football? Their feelings got hurt and they became depressed and decided they just wouldn’t play as well as they could? Interesting because 99% of players aren’t one-club men, and yet there are tons of good, productive and effective players around.
Indeed. Suso was loaned out and came back 10x better. But I guess he would have been at least 100x better if he had stayed on the bench and watched the others play. 🙂
With all these rumours on buying new centrebacks, is conte coming next season?
It’s an unfortunate possibility.
Ure right bro, Tomori will leave next season that is why Milan want to sign his replacement
