Romano: Milan targeting double raid on Lille – Newcastle to provide competition after €50m bid

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking at the possibility of trying a double raid on Lille in the summer with two of their star players in the sights, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.

During his podcast Here We Go, Romano confirmed that Botman will still be a target for Newcastle in the summer transfer window but also for Milan. Both the Rossoneri and the Premier League side are both ‘really focused’ on the defender in view of the reopening of the window as both want a high-level centre-back.

He added that Newcastle in ‘the final four or five days of the window’ were willing to offer €50m to Lille for the Dutchman but he was still not for sale as they maintained their stance. However, as mentioned, he will be a name for the summer that is worth keeping an eye on.

Romano says to also ‘keep on eye on Renato Sanches’ because Milan are very keen on him too. Many clubs will be in the race for Renato in the summer, but Milan tried to sign him in the last 48 hours of the window and will go back in.
