Milan Primavera 4-1 Dortmund: Rossoneri emphatically qualify for Youth League knockouts

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan Primavera have booked their place in the next round of the UEFA Youth League after an emphatic victory over Borussia Dortmund in Milan.

The German side actually got off to a perfect start as Julian Rijkhoff put them 1-0 up after just four minutes, but Milan soon made their superiority show.

The equaliser came just after 20 minutes when Milan pressed Dortmund intensely and managed to win the ball in the box. Kevin Zeroli was on hand to smartly finish.

Just five minutes later, Filippo Scotti reacted quickest in the box to make it 2-1, and then Milan had hit their stride.

Scotti added his second of the game and Milan’s third just three minutes later. The ball had come loose in the Dortmund box again and Scotti was on hand to smash it into the back of the net.

A superb first-half recovery from Ignazio Abate’s side was completed when Diego Sia excellently headed in a cross to make it 4-1.

Milan now have 12 points from five games, meaning they cannot be caught by Dortmund or Paris Saint-Germain on the final matchday.

  1. Absolutely hammered them, we need to integrate our youngsters properly, they clearly have what it takes and we are seemingly the only team that doesn’t give our youth a chance.

    1. Man I watched the full first half and I don’t see why Scotti, Sia, Zeroli and Simic won’t be able to play for the first time by 2025. Their development has been very good. That left back is good too.

    2. They have what it takes to play against other youth teams, which is very far from being able to play on the first team. Did you see Camarda on Saturday? He was completely lost out there. Please tell me which Primavera player has shown himself to be better than any Milan starter is.
Oh, and please tell me what teenager is getting quality minutes on any other top Serie A side?

      1. Zeroli, Cuenca and some of the other guys are the same age as Luca Romero. So it isn’t too far fetched. We aren’t saying play them week in week out, but you need to blood these players, look at Rico Lewis, Phil Foden etc…those guys were given opportunities by Pep, look at Man United’s youngsters performing this past weekend. You need to blood them, whether it be in the cup or the league. We as a club are quick to ship off these youngsters way too early, look at the players we have lost over the years, Locatelli for one, Cristante is another.

  2. Zeroli, Nsiala, Šimić, Jimenez, Sia, Cuenca, Camarda, Stalmach, Traore, with these new kids, I look at the future of Milan with a smile

  3. What a performance 👏 I wish to see some of these youngsters playing in the senior team…cuenca is a baller, that SIA too Chale our youth team is the best
