AC Milan Primavera have learned that they will be facing Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Youth League this season.
Ignazio Abate’s side made it into the quarter-finals of the tournament thanks to a 1-0 win over Rukh Lviv in the round of 16. Kevin Zeroli headed in the winner with just five minutes left to play against the Ukrainian side.
That win on Tuesday meant that Milan knew they’d face either Atletico Madrid or KRC Genk in the next round. The match at the Wanda Metropolitano in the Spanish capital ended 4-1 one to the Rojoblancos.
Atletico Madrid are regarded as one of the favourites to win the UEFA Youth League but they will need to travel to Milan and beat the Rossoneri to continue in the tournament. They were 4-0 up at half-time against their Belgian opposition.
Milan finished top of a group containing RB Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb and Chelsea earlier in the season.
