AC Milan are looking to reinforce the midfield in January but they will not sign a new striker as it stands, according to a report.
Alberto Cerruti writes in his column for Calciomercato.com that Houssem Aouar is the latest target for Milan. The 24-year-old French midfielder has contract with Lyon that is set to expire at the end of the season, so could be available in a cut-price January deal.
The idea is to bring him into the squad in place of another departing midfielder, who is also French and whose surname begins with ‘A’: Yacine Adli. He has had little playing time up to now, like all the other summer signings the Rossoneri made.
On the other hand, there is no interest in a new striker, because according to what has emerged from Casa Milan Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara do not deem it necessary to reinforce the attacking department.
It is a decision with certain elements of risk, because none of the forwards available to Pioli aside from Olivier Giroud offer certainties which is tough given the Scudetto race and Champions League last 16 tie against Spurs to come.
Um….Maldini, I get that you were a defender but WE NEED A STRIKER. If it were up to me a striker would be the first thing on the list for January.
Well no clubs nowadays go for such an expensive purchase in middle of a season unless and until circumstances allows loans preferable but the impact on balance sheet will be immense. And for milan no ways they can go unless they can get someone from south american leagues where seasons ends I guess…striker is must no doubt but they will wait till January and rw too which has been holding us back for long time…..while all this leao talk around hope its doesn’t return to bite us in negative way.
