AC Milan Women suffered another disappointing result as they were unable to really lay a glove on Serie A Femminile leaders AS Roma in a 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Maurizio Ganz’s side fell behind very early at the Stadio Tre Fontane in Rome when Elen Linari was able to bundle in the loose ball from a corner in the eighth minute.
Shortly before half time though, there was hope for the Rossonere when Valery Vigilucci managed to get them back on level terms.
A terrible start to the second half though quickly took any hope of a comeback away though. Laura Giuliani handled outside her box and Bendetta Glionna superbly scored the free-kick. Then on the hour mark, Emilie Haavi’s wonderful shot from the edge of the box made it 3-1.
It was clear that the Milan players knew they were beaten, whilst Roma also clearly knew that they had got the job done.
Roma go back to eight points clear at the top whilst Milan remain fifth.
