AC Milan have not given up on the idea of signing Nicolo Zaniolo who is open to a potential return to Italy despite only leaving for Turkey in January.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below) reports that Zaniolo’s time with Galatasaray could end as early as the summer given he has a €35m clause, and Juventus above all are keen on bolstering their attacking options with a young Italian profile like the ex-Roma man.
What filters from Juventus is that any investments will be made only for Italian players and Zaniolo falls into that category given he plays for the Azzurri and is young (23 years old) but also experienced at high levels.
Contacts with Zaniolo’s entourage have never stopped and they will continue in the coming weeks as well, with the Bianconeri waiting to understand if they will play the Champions League next season and who out of the big names like Rabiot to Di Maria will extend.
Zaniolo has never hidden his childhood support for Juventus and there are some who believe he would move there even in the event they do not get UCL qualification, but the pressure then would be on the Turin club to find a way to make things happen financially.
Juve are definitely not the only one to sense the opportunity though as Milan – after the January attempt – are at the window. In the Premier League they could pay the clause more easily too, so that cannot be ruled out.
