The city of Milan is going to feel a lot more French next week with around 8,000 Stade Rennes fans set to make the trip for the first leg of the Europa League tie against AC Milan.
As reported by Milan News, the French side are going to travel in numbers for what is a very big game on Thursday at San Siro.
It is the first leg of the Europa League knockout round playoff, with the winning team getting into the round of 16 proper. Milan are now considered one of the favourites to go deep in the tournament, but this will not be a simple tie.
The away section at San Siro is only set to hold 5,000 spectators, which means lots of the travelling fans will be heading into bars around the city or potentially have tickets in the home sections, which will be a concern from a stewarding perspective.
Rennes are currently ninth in Ligue 1 and are not enjoying the sort of season they had last year, but players like Arnaud Kalimuendo and Amine Gouiri can cause any team issues.
Rennes is in the north west of France which means it is almost as far from Milan as you can get within France. Any fans choosing to travel by car will be driving for 11 hours.
