Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to AC Milan was announced last week but he was unable to attend the game against Monza due to the flu. Therefore, tonight’s away encounter with Salernitana will be his first as an advisor for the club.
Ibrahimovic has taken on a role as an Operating Partner of RedBird and Senior Advisor to the AC Milan Ownership. It was announced by the Rossoneri last week and the Swede was hoping to attend the Monza game at the weekend, but couldn’t due to the flu.
As reported by MilanNews, tonight’s clash against Salernitana will be his first instead, having travelled with the CEO Giorgio Furlani to Salerno. At some point during the game, therefore, we can expect to see the TV cameras zooming in on the Swede in the stands.
Milan are looking to make it three consecutive wins in all competitions, which would also enable them to celebrate Christmas with ease. Salernitana are at the bottom of the standings and everyone is expecting the Rossoneri to win, but we all know what that narrative could result in.
Pioli is set to field a four-man backline again, after doing three against Monza, and Ismael Bennacer will also be back from start.
